Before shooting your video, the setup is crucial for ensuring a clean and effective green screen process. This step includes:

• Choosing the Right Green Screen: We use high-quality green screen fabric or a painted wall that’s perfectly lit. The green screen should be smooth and free of wrinkles to avoid shadows or uneven lighting.
• Lighting Setup: Proper lighting is key to ensuring even illumination of the green screen and the subject. We use professional lighting techniques to eliminate shadows, minimize green spill, and create a balanced exposure for both the background and subject.

By getting the pre-production setup right, we ensure that the green screen can be easily removed and replaced with any desired background during post-production.

During filming, the subject (person, object, or scene) is recorded in front of the green screen. Several considerations are made:

• Maintaining Proper Distance: The subject is positioned at an optimal distance from the green screen to avoid shadows or green spill, which could make the keying process more difficult.
• Capturing the Right Angles: We ensure that the camera angles, movements, and framing align with the final background scene, so the transition between the subject and the new background looks natural.
• Keeping the Subject Lit Correctly: Proper lighting on the subject is essential to make sure the subject stands out against the green screen without casting unwanted shadows or blends with the background.

Filming with a well-lit, clean green screen and a well-positioned subject ensures better results in the next stages of the process.

Once filming is complete, the next step is to remove the green screen background. This process is known as chroma keying, and it involves:

• Identifying the Green Color: Using specialized software, we identify and isolate the green color, allowing us to “key out” or remove the green background from the footage.
• Adjusting the Keying Parameters: We fine-tune settings like tolerance, spill suppression, and edge feathering to ensure a clean and accurate removal of the green screen without affecting the subject.

This is the critical stage where the green background is effectively replaced, setting the foundation for the new background to be inserted.

After the green screen is keyed out, it’s time to replace it with the desired background, which could be a static image, video, or animated scene. This step includes:

• Selecting the Background: The new background is chosen based on the project’s needs. It can be anything from a realistic setting (like a cityscape or nature scene) to a completely digital or abstract environment.
• Matching Lighting and Color: To ensure the subject blends seamlessly with the new background, we adjust the lighting, shadows, and color grading. This makes sure that the subject fits naturally within the new environment.
• Positioning & Scaling: We place the subject in the correct position and scale to match the background, ensuring that the perspective and alignment are consistent.

The goal is to create a cohesive visual experience where the subject appears to be naturally placed within the new background.

Even after the new background is inserted, additional refinement is necessary to perfect the final video. This step involves:

• Edge Refinement: We carefully adjust the edges around the subject to remove any leftover green spill or rough edges, ensuring that the transition between the subject and the background is clean and smooth.
• Spill Suppression: We handle any green reflection on the subject (known as green spill) by adjusting the color balance and adding corrective filters.
• Motion Tracking (if necessary): For moving shots, we use motion tracking tools to ensure that the subject remains perfectly aligned with the background, maintaining realism throughout the shot.

These refinements ensure that the subject and the background merge seamlessly, giving the final video a professional, polished look.

Once the video editing process is complete, we move on to finalizing the video:

• Exporting the Video: The final video is exported in the desired format and resolution, whether for online use, broadcast, or cinematic release.
• Review and Adjustments: We conduct a thorough review of the video, checking for any inconsistencies or issues that need to be addressed before delivering the final product.
• Client Feedback & Revisions: If necessary, we provide revisions based on client feedback, ensuring the final video meets all expectations.

Once all adjustments are made, the final video is ready for distribution or broadcast.
